There are way more than 3 fun things to do in Raleigh in the Fall. The City of Oaks is actually bursting at the seams with cool attractions and festivals to attend. To get you thinking and start your planning, I’ll share the beginning of a list of events to help you enjoy all that our beautiful city has to offer as the leaves fall from Raleigh’s blue skies.
IBMA World of Bluegrass Live
First on the list is happening right around the corner. The IBMA world of Bluegrass live is a free, two-day street festival that sets up five stages of music, a dance tent, beer garden, tons of art vendors and much more. Mark your calendars. Music kicks off at noon this Friday – 9/30 and Saturday – 10/1. As many as 200,000 people are expected to join in on the banjo pickin fun!
Sky Gazer – The World’s Largest Traveling Ferris Wheel
The154th Annual N.C State Fair is coming to Raleigh October 13 – 23rd. If you haven’t ridden the Sky Gazer, this is your chance to sit on top of the world eating a candy apple with the largest traveling Ferris Wheel in America! The N.C. State Fair is 11 days of high-flying rides, deep-fried foods, blue ribbon competitions, nightly fireworks, educational exhibits and so much more! What better way to capture the essence of Fall!
Scenic Stroll Through Historic Oakwood
Fall is a beautiful time to take a stroll through Historic Oakwood, a neighborhood of homes near the city center which mostly date from the mid-1800s to the early 1900s. During the fall, houses in Historic Oakwood are adorned with some of the best Halloween decorations in the area including the infamous Oakwood Halloween House.
