When trying to decide where the best pizza in Wake Forest is, I feel like it’s my duty as a realtor to help my clients out with top burner issues like this. After all, pizza is America’s number one dinner!
Wake Forest, North Carolina is home to around thirty different pizza shops. I’ve narrowed my choices down to my top three favorites. Not an easy task considering there are so many great choices. Consider this a public service announcement for the greater good of the community.
First one on the list is Milton’s Pizza & Pasta in Wakefield. This mom-and-pop shop has been serving up a traditional Greek style pizza which tends to be on thicker side for almost 40 years. You can taste the “freshness” with each bite. The Milton’s Special is LOADED with pepperoni, ham, salami, sausage, green peppers, onions, black olives and tomatoes and then smothered in their special cheese blend.
One of the things I appreciate is the level of customer service Milton’s is notorious for. Upon entering, more than one team member will pipe out a “hey Yall– welcome” from across the dining room. Their lunch buffet boasts several varieties of pizza, BBQ beef ribs, chicken, grilled veggies, homemade soups, chicken parmesan, pasta and a huge fresh all you can eat salad bar.
Next on the list is Il Bacio Italian Grill, another family owned and business that we love to take our family to. The owners brought their family’s famous Sicilian dishes and created an original menu using the freshest quality and best ingredients. Chef Michele Rizzo has been cooking authentic Italian food for years in the local Triangle area and it certainly shows up on the tables of this cool little place. When you walk in the door, the aroma of garlic and marinara pops you right in the nose. Nonna’s Pizza is a family favorite. This thin crust pizza is lightly topped with mozzarella, minced garlic, olive oil, oregano and a special basil sauce. It’s definitely our “New York pizza go to”.
My third choice may surprise you. Marcos Pizza in Heritage is absolutely amazing AND they deliver! As far as pizza franchises go, Marcos really stands out. The founder is native Italian and their pizza recipe is authentic! There are so many things to love about their pizza. I especially love the light and fresh crust. They have a Zesty 5 Cheese Pizza covered in cheddar, shaved parmesan and a 3-cheese blend, flavored with their signature pizza sauce, garlic butter, oregano and a special seasoning.
